A QUICK TIP FOR DECODING TELEPHONE NUMBERS:
the first three digits identify a specific area around the North Country
482- and 686- are along the St Lawrence River;
782-, 788-, 785- & 786- are central for Watertown and Ft Drum area.
689- & 654- run towards east end of Lake Ontario, Chaumont, Cape Vincent.
493- is off to the northeast including Carthage,
376- is south east to Lewis County; and
646- and 938- are along the south shore of Lake Ontario.
